Course Description
Stress costs Canadian industry millions each year, yet no one calculates what the real cost is to our personal lives. We all have many demands placed on us whether they are related to work, family, home, or community involvement.

In this course you will learn several skills, tools and techniques that can help you better manage stress and time, and keep you resilient in your organizational environment. You will also recognize and appreciate the interrelationship between many variables including stress, time management, and interpersonal communications.

This course will benefit leaders, team members and essentially anyone in an organization who needs to more effectively manage stress and time, and ultimately create success in one’s personal and work life.
Course Outline
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:


1. Define stress and describe different types of stress.

2. Identify signs and symptoms of stress including physical, emotional and social.

3. Explain the relationship between our personal energy levels and stress management.

4. Identify reasons for increasing our personal energy levels and identify several options for increasing or renewing our energy levels.

5. Identify other strategies and techniques for transforming stress into productive, motivational forces for positive change and growth.

6. Create personal / work action plans to produce optimum personal energy, performance, and success in one’s personal and work life.

7. Define key concepts related to personal time management including a personal mission, goals, values and action plans.

8. Discuss key time management principles and concepts including daily planning and priority setting.

9. Identify practical time and organizational strategies, tools and techniques for managing time.

10. Create personal / work action plans including the setting of goals and steps to take to begin the process of self and time management.
Instructor
Jane Grant, CHRP, CMC
As an energetic and versatile Human Resources Management Consultant, Jane has over 25 years of experience in the design, facilitation, and evaluation of various training and development programs, including leadership development programs.

Jane’s passion and enthusiasm for the training and development area is evident in the facilitation of her highly interactive and engaging workshops. Jane’s participants have included those working in oil and gas, manufacturing, information technology, health care, government, education, engineering, not-for-profit, etc. Jane has also taught for many years at both the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University.

Jane is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and Certified Management Consultant (CMC). Jane is a member of the Human Resources Association of Calgary, the Human Resources Institute of Alberta, and the Canadian Association of Management Consultants.
